NEARLY 400 GATHER TO REMEMBER 9/11, HONOR GOV. LINGLE AT 8TH ANNUAL GOVERNOR'S BALL
Nearly 400 gathered at the Hilton Hawaiian Village this evening at the Hawaii Republican Party's 8th Annual Governor's Ball. The event helps raise funds for the Hawaii Republican Party's Victory Program for the upcoming election year.
The program featured a special remembrance of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center by an HRP member who was at the site the day of the attack. Governor Linda Lingle and Lt. Governor Duke Aiona were the honored guests in what would be Governor Lingle's last Governor's Ball as the state's Executive.
"This has been a tradition for eight years and we look forward to continuing that tradition next year with Lt. Governor Duke Aiona," said Party Chairman Jonah Ka'auwai. "The Party is excited about the Governor's race as well as our competitive races for U.S. Congress, the Hawaii State Legislature and City/County Mayor, Council and Prosecutor."
The Hawaii Republican Party has fielded a record 95 candidates and have 13 contested primaries this Primary Election, seven of which have three or more Republican candidates. HRP will host press conferences during Hawaii's Primary Election as well as a Unity Luncheon/Press Conference the Sunday following the Primary Election.
