HANABUSA RUNNING IN A RACE SHE CAN’T VOTE IN
News Release from www.GOPHawaii.com
HONOLULU—Hawai'i Republican Party Chairman Jonah Ka'auwai released the following statement regarding presumptive Democrat nominee Colleen Hanabusa’s residency outside of the first congressional district:
“Just last week, Congressman Charles Djou cast his vote in the Primary election for Hawaii’s First Congressional District. His main opponent, however, has not cast her vote yet. In fact, she will not be voting in this election. As a candidate asking for the vote of the people, it’s worth asking: ‘If Colleen Hanabusa won’t be voting for herself, why should anyone else?’
“Voters have a clear choice in this race. On the one hand, they can vote for a candidate who lives outside the district and has failed twice in her effort to represent Hawaii’s other congressional district. Or they can vote for a candidate who has represented parts of the First Congressional District in elected office for eight years as a Honolulu City Councilman and, for the past 90 days, fought for fiscal responsibility and government accountability as its Congressman.”
