CORRECTION: Adrienne S. King candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii has NOT received either the Maui Tea Party or the Kona Tea Party endorsement. 

A news release from the campaign of Adrienne S King for the Republican nomination for Lt Governor claimed:

(Honolulu, Hawaii), August 18, 2010- Yesterday the Maui Tea Party and the Kona Tea Party have both officially announced their endorsement for Adrienne S. King for Lieutenant Governor.

But the King campaign Friday retracted the announcement and has acknowledged that neither the Kona nor Maui TEA Parties have given their endorsement. 

In response to our query, we received the following from the Rick Thompson, Chairman of the Kona TEA Party:

You are correct that the Kona Tea Party is not endorsing Adrienne King.
Our policy is to not make an endorsement in contested primary races.  Thus
we have no endorsement for the Lt. Governor race at this time.
