COVID Count: 47 new cases out of 1,172 tests

News Release from Hawaii DoH, July 28, 2020

On 7/28/2020, the Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 47 new positive cases. One of the cases is on Maui and 46 are on O‘ahu for a cumulative total of 1,757 cases statewide (reported since 2/28/2020). An earlier case were removed as a result of updated information.

A total of 117,559 individuals have been tested in the state. (1,172 new tests)

§Includes cases that meet isolation release criteria (Isolation should be maintained until at least 3 days (72 hours) after resolution of fever and myalgia without the use of antipyretics OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset, whichever is longer). (The cases that have died and one case that has left the jurisdiction have been removed from these counts).

Positive cases include presumptive and confirmed cases, and Hawaii residents and non-residents; data are preliminary and subject to change. Note that CDC provides case counts according to states of residence.

Department of Health: 

47 New Cases of Coronavirus Reported 

All but one of the newly diagnosed coronavirus cases reported by DOH are on O‘ahu. There was a single new case on Maui. Of the 46 total cases, 41 are among adults and six are pediatric cases. Community-associated infection has been identified in eight (8) of the new cases, while travel-association is in two (2). The source of infection for the remaining 37 cases is still under investigation.
