My OHA Endorsements

by Sam King, July 13, 2020

Here are my OHA recommendations:

EVERYONE CAN VOTE IN EVERY OHA RACE

As you can see on the Office of Elections handy "Sample Ballot" generator, you can vote in every OHA race!

https://olvr.hawaii.gov/altballotsearch.aspx

Ballots arrive on or about July 21!

KELII AKINA is the most important person to vote for and donate to in the OHA race.  If you only can donate $5 to a single OHA candidate, donate it to AKINA.  AKINA is running for the only At-Large seat open and the proponents and beneficiaries of the corruption and ineptitude at OHA are gunning for AKINA BIG TIME.

You can donate to AKINA here: https://www.keliiakina.com/donate

Not only does AKINA support the Thirty Meter Telescope, which is the most important issue in the OHA race this year, he is also taking on the corruption and ineptitude at OHA head on.  He is doing more for the Hawaiian community than any trustee at OHA and he absolutely must be re-elected for the good of our state.

For the Hawaii Island seat, I recommend voting for LOUIS HAO.

HAO is running for the Hawaii Island seat being vacated by Robert Lindsey.  Robert supported TMT and so does HAO.

We absolutely need a TMT supporter in the OHA Hawaii island seat.

HAO is also a former OHA trustee so he actually knows how the game is played an how to advance and protect TMT.

He is also a pretty nice guy.

Please support HAO however you can!

For the Kauai seat, I recommend voting for KAMEALOHA SMITH.

KAMEALOHA SMITH is a dear friend and supporter.  I do not agree with him on everything, but we agree on the key thing, which is that we need to build TMT!  He does not make a lot of noise about it, but he understands the tremendous value TMT brings and he knows the protesters offer absolutely no alternatives.

KAMEALOHA SMITH also works on the ground with homeless Native Hawaiians on Kauai.  He teaches Hawaiian language.  He also happens to be not corrupt and therefore a vast improvement.

Most importantly, if KAMEALOHA SMITH wins, we remove Dan Ahuna.  Dan Ahuna is currently under investigation by the FBI and can't be removed from OHA fast enough.  Ahuna also opposes TMT!

Please DONATE to KAMEALOHA SMITH Here:

For the Molokai seat, I recommend voting for LUANA ALAPA.

In my initial conversations with ALAPA she expressed support for TMT, but she was attacked by the protesters when she went public so she is now neutral.

The key here is that ALAPA IS BETTER THAN COLLETTE MACHADO.  Machado has been the chair of OHA through the TMT protests and has been an absolute disaster.  If we can get her and Dan Ahuna out of OHA the world will be a better place.

YOU CAN VOTE IN EVERY OHA RACE.

And you should.  You don't have to be Native Hawaiian to support the Native Hawaiians.  Moreover, there is ONE major issue at play in the OHA race, and that is the THIRTY METER TELESCOPE.

If we get these 4 candidates into OHA the future of the Thirty Meter Telescope will be much brighter.  Mahalo and aloha!  Imua TMT!
