Thursday’s editorial in the Washington Post: “Wrong way in Thailand” highlights an issue of personal significance to Congressman Djou. He is the first Member of Congress of Thai descent and still has family living in Bangkok. 

Congressman Djou gave a floor speech July 2 calling for peace in Thailand. 

He has often noted how remarkable it is that in the same week he was speaking with relatives in Thailand who were witnessing the brutal violence in the streets of Bangkok, he was sworn in as a Member of Congress in the greatest nation on earth.
