DJOU REPORTS RAISING NEARLY A MILLION DOLLARS IN SECOND QUARTER

Maintains Over $375,000 on Hand to Win Re-election

Congressman Charles K. Djou is entering the general election with a strong showing of support from 4,137 individual donors for the quarter that ended June 30, 2010. The Djou campaign raised $935,435 in the second quarter, receiving nearly $200,000 of that in the five weeks after his special election victory.  Djou has entered the third quarter with $379,046 on hand.

“The people of Hawaii showed in the special election that they wanted change,” said Djou.  “Their outpouring of support is speaking in a clear voice that they are tired of government spending far too much taxpayer dollars on public programs that aren’t working. The concern that our national deficits and debt pose are real. That’s what I campaigned on, that’s what I won on and that is what I will continue focusing on in Congress.

“While I am excited by the overwhelming support for our campaign, I know that I still need to work hard every day to prove that I deserve the trust Hawaii voters have placed in me.”

Congressman Djou built one of the largest and most dynamic grassroots efforts in Hawaii state history throughout the special election campaign and has shown no signs of slowing down.

In addition to the broad support Congressman Djou received, the average donation was less than $200.

The Djou campaign Facebook page has just under 4,500 fans, the Djou campaign Twitter account has over 1,500 followers and the videos uploaded on the YouTube page have been viewed over 38,000 times.
