STATE SENATOR FRED HEMMINGS ENDORSES LYNN FINNEGAN FOR LT. GOVERNOR

HONOLULU - In her campaign for Lt. Governor of Hawai‘i, Lynn Finnegan today announced the support of long serving state Senator Fred Hemmings.

"Having worked with Lynn for many years as part of the Legislative Minority Caucus, I continue to be impressed by her bold and yet compassionate leadership. Her work, characterized by her willingness to collaborate in a bipartisan way, has been an asset to the Legislature and to the people of Hawai'i. As our next Lt. Governor, I am confident Lynn Finnegan will continue the strong, balanced leadership we need on the 5th floor."

Hemmings served as Senate Minority Leader since 2002, working in close partnership with Lynn Finnegan as House Minority Leader.

“Senator Hemmings has a storied career in Hawai‘i, from his championship surfing days to his leadership on the floor of the state senate, and even as a former Lt. Governor candidate himself.  He knows what our state needs, and I am honored to have earned his vote of confidence as I work daily to earn the support of the people of Hawai‘i,” said Lynn Finnegan.

Hemmings announced his retirement during the 2010 legislative session and has joined in support of Lynn Finnegan's candidacy for Lt. Governor, along with residents across the state.
