Seeking 10 more candidates, Hawaii GOP highlights record of unchallenged Legislators

As you may already know, July is "iMUST Month" for Hawaii Republicans.  Now is the time to make that conscience commitment to help the Party with community events, volunteer your time to campaigns and candidates that drive you and to encourage your friends and family to do the same.   We can take back our state and give our children a prosperous and vibrant future.  We can bring balance to Hawaii politics and fight against greed and corruption of our State Legislature. 

This Week's iMust: Recruit and Support Republican Candidates  

We have until July 20, 2010 to recruit Republicans to run for office. We've put out radio and Facebook ads and a You Tube recruitment video that have generated dozens of qualified and exciting candidates. 

We only have 10 more districts to go before we fill the ballots with Republican candidates:

House District 1: Portions of N. Kohala and S. Kohala, Hamakua and portions of N. and S. Hilo

  • Currently held by Mark Nakashima

  • Nakashima voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001), suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of a bill to raise the barrel tax from $0.05 to $1.05 (HB 2421),  co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), co-introduced HB 444

House District 2:  Portion of S. Hilo from Piihonua to Keaukaha

  • Currently held by Jerry Chang

  • Chang voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001) and to suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of a bill to raise the barrel tax from $0.05 to $1.05 (HB 2421), voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), co-sponsored HB 444

House District 3:   Portions of S. Hilo to Panaewa and portion of Puna (portion of Keaau, Kurtistown)

  • Currently held by Clift Tsuji

  • Tsjui voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001) and to suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of a bill to raise the barrel tax from $0.05 to $1.05 (HB 2421), co-sponsored and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), co-introduced HB 444

House District 14: Hanalei District from Haena to Kilauea, Kawaihau from Anahola to Waipouli and portion of Lihue (Wailua House Lots)

  • Currently held by Hermina Morita

  • Morita voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001) and to suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of a bill to raise the barrel tax from $0.05 to $1.05 (HB 2421), co-introduced and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), co-introduced a bill in favor of same sex marriage (HB 878) and HB 444

House District 21: Portion of Kaimuki to portion of McCully

  • Currently held by Scott Nishimoto

  • Nishimoto voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001) and to suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), co-sponsored and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), co-introduced HB 444

House District 24: Manoa, Manoa Valley and UH, portion of McCully

Senate District 11: Portion of McCully, Tantalus, portion of Makiki, Punchbowl to portion of Honolulu 

  • Currently held by Carol Fukunaga

  • Fukunaga voted in favor of and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952), voted  for HB 444

Senate District 14: Kahili Kai to Kahili Valley and portions of Kalihi, Fort Shafter, Moanalua Valley, Aiea and Halawa Valley

  • Currently held by Donna Mercado Kim

  • Mercado Kim voted to prematurely kill high tech tax credits (SB 2001) and introduced legislation to suspend high tech tax credits (SB 2401), voted in favor of and voted to override Governor's veto of a bill to raise the barrel tax from $0.05 to $1.05 (HB 2421),  voted in favor of and voted to override Governor's veto of the card check bill (HB 952)
