In the U.S. District Court for Hawaii, Judge Michael Seabright ruled that Sandwich Isles Communications defaulted on more than $129 million in promissory notes owed to an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The Rural Utilities Service loaned millions to the company to finance the installation of a telecommunications network in the state.
