Aren B. Palik and Peter M. Christian Winners in Congressional Special Election
News Release from FSM Information Services July 2, 2019
PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On July 2nd, 2019 citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) registered to vote in the States of Pohnpei and Kosrae voted in a Special Election to fill the two vacant four-year (at-large) seats in the Congress of the FSM resulting from the elections of His Excellency David W. Panuelo and the Honorable Yosiwo P. George, President and Vice President of the FSM respectively. What follows are certified results from the FSM National Election Office.
Aren B. Palik is the official declared winner for Kosrae State’s at-large seat, having received 1,916 votes or 54.0% of all votes cast.
Former President of the FSM, Peter M. Christian, is the official declared winner for Pohnpei State’s at-large seat, having received 6,060 votes or 46.46% of all votes cast.
