How the Jones Act has cost Puerto Rico dearly, and Hawaii, too
From Grassroot Institute
America's protectionist maritime legislation known as the Jones Act has devastated Puerto Rico’s economy, and it hasn't been so great for Hawaii, either.
That’s according to John Dunham, president of the highly regarded New York-based economic consulting firm John Dunham & Associates, who will appear at two Grassroot Institute of Hawaii luncheons in July to talk about how reforming the 99-year-old Jones Act could benefit Hawaii, and, indeed, the whole nation.
His first appearance will be at the Maui Country Club in Paia, on Thursday, July 11. The second luncheon will be at a private club near downtown Honolulu, on Friday, July 12.
