DJOU STATEMENT ON CONFIRMATION OF LEE DONOHUE TO HONOLULU CITY COUNCIL 

Washington, DC — Congressman Charles Djou (HI-01) released the following statement regarding the Honolulu City Council’s confirmation of Lee Donohue to the Council:

“I wish Lee Donohue well in filling my seat. This was a decision by the City Council and I respect their choice. I look forward to working with Mr. Donohue and the rest of the Council in the best interests of the people of Honolulu.” 

Congressman Djou was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives last month after seven and a half years on the City Council. To date, Lee Donohue has never spoken to Congressman Djou on issues concerning the council district, or any other matter since retiring as police chief nearly six years ago.
