Tracy Nakano Bean: Leadership For Hawaii, Ready On Day One

from www.BeanHawaii.com

KANEOHE (MAY 29, 2010) – Tracy Nakano Bean has begun a walking tour to visit and listen story with the people of Senate District 24 and issued the following statement on her campaign vision:

“My entire life, I have always had a heart for serving people and meeting needs. As a flight attendant for Hawaiian Airlines, I take great pride in being the first ‘aloha’ that greets visitors to Hawaii and serving as a representative of our island culture and values to those who have never been here before. As a minister, I enjoy helping brokenhearted and discouraged people recover and find acceptance and victory over situations that seem impossible to solve. I have made the decision to run for State Senate because not only do I want to continue to serve, but I can no longer sit back and allow Hawaii to be destroyed by mediocre leadership that drifts from one crisis to the next.

“We face a time of great challenges. Here in Hawaii, growing encroachments by the Federal government are erasing our individual liberties and state’s rights. Excessive spending in Washington has left us with a trillion dollars in the red each year for the next five years and a national debt that has the rest of the world positioning itself to replace the U.S. dollar with a new reserve currency because they know it is backed by nothing. Our leaders at the Hawaii State Capitol have shown no restraint in doing everything possible to grab Federal funds at the expense of submitting to ‘one size fits all’ legislation which often doesn’t make sense and creates more fiscal problems than they solve. And when it comes to taxes, Hawaii’s Legislature has never met a tax it didn’t like.

“Hawaii needs legislators that understand that the States created the Federal Government and that the Tenth Amendment exists to ensure that Hawaii is run by the people of Hawaii and not entrenched politicians half a world away. Hawaii needs leadership to say that we will not give up our state sovereignty and individual liberty for a few dollars more and courage to make hard decisions like cutting taxes and admitting that government shouldn’t be responsible for every aspect of our lives from cradle to grave.

“I love the people of Hawaii too much to see their dreams crushed by the weight of big government’s appetite for more spending and more control. Too many campaigns revolve around making the people trust government; it’s time government trusted the people – by putting them back in charge of their finances and their future. I will restore the fallen tent of liberty and provide leadership leading to recovery from day one.

“This Memorial Day, let’s honor our fallen heroes by working to once more being a nation worthy of their sacrifice: full of freedom, prosperity and hope. May God bless America, and God bless Hawaii!”
