Maui News, October 21, 2018: …Maui County announced Saturday that its Office of Economic Development has begun accepting invoices from vendors who provided goods and services under the recently terminated $100,000 grant awarded to an executive assistant of County Council Member (and anti-GMO activist) Alika Atay.
The grant awarded to (anti-GMO activist) Brian Bardellini for March events celebrating Queen Ka’ahumanu’s 250th birthday has come under scrutiny by the county administration and Maui County Council.
Earlier this month, the county terminated the contract award and announced it would take over reviews and payments of $46,000 in outstanding receipts owed to vendors.
On Saturday, the Office of Economic Development said submitted vendor invoices must be complete with full contact information and detailed descriptions of services rendered or goods purchased.
The deadline for invoice submissions is 4:30 p.m. Nov. 16. Documents may be submitted to grants.oed

Wailuku, Maui - The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (OED) announced today that it is now accepting invoices from vendors who provided goods and services under the recently terminated grant titled “250th Celebration of Queen Kaahumanu” (G4607) and have not yet been paid in full.
Invoices must be complete with full contact information and detailed description of services performed or goods purchased. If vendor provided consulting, hourly rate and number of hours worked must be on the invoice. All submissions must provide proof that work was authorized and evidence that work was completed. Vendors must also provide a W-9 Form with their submissions.
The deadline for submissions is November 16, 2018 by 4:30 p.m. Please submit all documents to grants.oed@mauicounty.gov and include “G4607” in the subject line of the email.
Any payments disbursed from the County of Maui will be based upon verification and balance of funds available under G4607. OED will contact claimants if additional supporting information is needed.
