Now that the U.S. Supreme Court's Janus v. AFSCME ruling has had time to settle, what’s next?
Addressing that question and others will be attorneys Jacob Huebert and Tony Gill, at a forum at the Pacific Club in Honolulu, Monday, Sept. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Huebert is a former senior attorney at the Liberty Justice Center who represented Mark Janus before the U.S. Supreme Court. Gill is a prominent Honolulu labor attorney who has represented the University of Hawaii Professional Assembly and the Hawaii State Teachers Association.
Grassroot Institute President Keli‘i Akina, Ph.D., will serve as moderator, and there will be ample time for Huebert and Gill to field questions from the audience.

The short-term and long-range fallout of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent Janus v. AFSCME ruling will be discussed by Jacob Huebert, attorney for plaintiff Mark Janus, at a luncheon event on Maui sponsored by the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 11:30 to 1 p.m.
Huebert is a senior attorney at the Goldwater Institute, former director of litigation at the Liberty Justice Center and author of the book “Libertarianism Today.” He litigates cases to protect economic liberty, the First Amendment and other constitutional rights.
The event will be at the Maui Country Club in Paia, and be moderated by Keli‘i Akina, Ph.D., Grassroot Institute president.
