GLOBAL PANEL LEADS P3 DISCUSSION WITH HART STAKEHOLDERS
From HART Weekly E News, August 31, 2018
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation recently hosted an informational panel discussion featuring representatives from transit-based public-private partnerships (P3) from around the world. National and international experts provided their experience and insights into the P3 process. Both public and private stakeholders involved in developing the Honolulu Rail Transit Project attended the event, as did a number of directors from the HART Board, who are currently performing their due diligence in examining the intricacies of the P3 process.
HART Board member Ember Shinn moderated the panel discussion that included:
- Joshua Schank, Chief Innovation Officer from Los Angeles Metro
- Lecia Stewart, President at The Stewart Group, Vancouver Sky-Train, Canada
- Lee McDonald, Global Head of Rail & Asia-Pacific Corporate Practices, Ashurst LLP, Australia
- Fred Maroudas, Head of Rail and Airports, Infrastructure and Projects Authority, United Kingdom
The 3-hour discussion focused on structuring P3 programs, design and construction, operations and maintenance, and project financing.
