Ka’auwai: Dem Governors perpetuate broken system they created

3 GOVERNORS SHOW DEMOCRATS TAKE HAWAII VOTERS FOR GRANTED

HONOLULU-- Chairman of the Hawai'i Republican Party Jonah Ka'auwai responds to former governors’ news conference:

“It is no surprise that the three former governors would come out in full support of electing someone who would perpetuate Hawai'i’s broken political system since they are responsible for creating it.  Their encouragement to vote for any Democrat only illustrates that they want to continue the culture of wasteful out of control spending and high taxes in Washington D.C.,” stated Ka’auwai.

“The only news that was made today is the Hawai'i Democrat Party has taken Hawai'i voters for granted.  Democrats assumed Hawai'i voters would vote for any Democrat candidate and now that Charles’ message has resonated with voters, Democrats realize they have the wrong message for Hawai'i.”

“Charles Djou stated yesterday in his keynote address to the Hawai'i Republican Party convention that this congressional seat does not belong to the Democratic Party of Hawai'i, it belongs to the people of Hawai'i.  The former governors simply telling people to vote for a Democrat is a last minute attempt to hold on to power by people who have shown us how bad things can be when they have it.”

DJOU: REACTION TO FORMER GOVERNORS COMMENTS ON SPECIAL ELECTION

Congressional Candidate Charles Djou released the following statement in reaction to Governors Ariyoshi, Waihee and Cayetano’s comments on the Special Election for Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District.

“I have said from the very beginning of this campaign, this Congressional seat is not owned by the Democrat Party, it is owned by the people of Hawaii.  This election is a choice between the status quo or the fresh new vision for Hawaii that my campaign offers.   The people of the 1st congressional district will decide who their next representative will be on May 22nd, not the Democrat machine, the union bosses or the former Governors. “

HNN: Former Hawaii governors unite to urge democrats to vote

At the State Republican Convention on Saturday, Ben Cayetano, John Waihee and George Ariyoshi were referred to as being apart of the "Old Guard."

Yet, they all say they're proud of that title.

"I think that the democratic party who we truly represent has been very good to Hawaii, we've done many things in healthcare and trying to take care of our people," Ariyoshi said.

Although the governors say they're not for pushing one democratic candidate to drop out, two of them have come out with endorsements.

On Saturday, Waihee chose Hanabusa and his former sidekick, Ben Cayetano has picked Ed Case.
