After Winning Suit Against IRS, Maui TEA Party Dissolves
By News Release @ 4:00 PM :: 5862 Views :: First Amendment, TEA Party

Major Announcement from TEA Party Maui

As you may be aware, the last few years have been challenging for TEA Party Maui. The IRS intimidation definitely had a negative effect on our local group, squelching participation. After many years we lost our great meeting place at Kalama Heights, and many of our members have moved to more liberty-minded states. Our TEA Party Maui website was hacked, resulting in the loss of all of our current and archived content.

We believe the IRS classification we fought for restricts our political speech and ability to promote candidates and other political groups supporting our TEA Party principles: Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, Free Markets and Individual Liberty.

Now that the IRS lawsuit has been settled, the TPM Board of Directors has voted to disband under the TEA Party Maui name and let go of our IRS non-profit status. We will be starting 2018 as CSC Maui -- Common Sense Coalition Maui. You will still receive e-blasts from us whenever there are events or information for you, but they will be from the email address: common.sense.coalition.maui@gmail.com

We are looking forward to the continuation of the MAGA agenda; shrinking the size and scope of the Federal Government and restoring the Rule of Law.
Living in the Blue-est state in the nation, we have a continuing fight for liberty on our hands. We need to do all we can to support those who step up to the plate to reverse the far Left course Hawaii has been on for 50 years.

The TPM BOD has voted to donate our remaining funds to the local group that is most openly and actively fighting for our limited government principles. We believe Grassroot Institute is doing a great job educating and informing the people of Hawaii about the principles of liberty. We applaud and support their involvement in our local and national government, working to bring real change to Hawaii. We are confident that our donation will be used to further the TEA Party principles.

Thank you for all you have done to support TEA Party Maui, and please stay tuned for upcoming events and information from CSC Maui.
