Background: Representative Gene Ward (R-17 Hawaii Kai) has given three presentations to various organizations in Honolulu in the past two months. Reiterating his call for a peaceful summit between Kim Jong Un and President Trump here in the islands, Rep. Ward states:
"I would like to see Hawaii become 'The Geneva of the Pacific' led by its two elite diplomatic institutions of the East-West Center and the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies. Hawaii was placed on dictator Kim Jong Un's 'Map of Death' over a year ago. North Korea's recent H-Bomb test shows they have developed bombs 10 times as powerful as those dropped on Hiroshima during World War II. When the diplomats stop talking-- the bullets start flying."
(Rep. Gene Ward is the House Minority Leader Emeritus, Vietnam Veteran and former Peace Corps Volunteer who represents House District 17 – Hawaii Kai, Kalama Valley)
