(UPDATE April 27) First, praise God for the faithful from several churches whose members also visited offices during the session recess …
The final two days of session, April 28 & 29, are especially critical and HB 444 remains on life support. Still, anything could happen during those TWO DAYS when the agenda is short.
TAKE ACTION!

***URGENT NOTE: A harassment complaint was filed against an unidentified assailant by Executive Director, Dennis Arakaki. Praise God for the many who prayed for Dennis and for the situation. Many came forth to encourage Dennis and to also volunteer as witnesses to the event. We refuse to be bullied and intimidated! Please be vigilant and keep praying.

Message From the Hawaii Family Forum and the Hawaii Catholic Conference (April 21, 2010)
TIME TO ARISE, BODY OF CHRIST
“GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE…Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time…Be self-controlled and alert, your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1PETER 5:5-5,6&8
The final fall of HB 444 is near! Some advocates for HB 444 have chosen to get nasty and personal probably out of frustration and anger…We will respond not in kind, but with grace and love!
FINISH STRONG: April 29, Sine Die, or the last day of Session. Until then, we cannot rest. The last four days are critical (Monday – Thursday) Advocates for HB 444 have been aggressive, calling and visiting the members of the House and sending them e-mails and faxes in numbers that might make them believe that there are more supporters that what they thought or that the numbers are growing. It is a strategy of deception that may work if we stay silent. (Read Star Bulletin Article)
PRAY UNCEASINGLY: Please lift up in prayer our legislators and leaders and ask for protection from attacks. Know that it is spiritual warfare. For believers, we can only attribute what happened this year and last year to God’s will and the body of Christ rising up and moving in unity along with the fervent prayers of intercession.
TAKE ACTION NOW!
CALL, E-MAIL and VISIT THE OFFICES OF THE HOUSE MEMBERS, ESPECIALLY YOUR REPRESENTATIVE. ASK OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.
- Thank them for standing firm. Be Positive!
- Let them know that you appreciate their dedication and the stress they are going through in behalf of the citizens of Hawaii.
- Let them know that you are praying for them, their families and their staff.
But be forewarned, that advocates will also be present and you may become a target of their anger and frustration. Report to us any incidents of harassment or intimidation.
SIT IN ON THE DAILY HOUSE SESSIONS, 12 NOON, APRIL 26 – APRIL 29.
Starting Monday, April 26, gather at the Capitol BY 11:30 AM to sit in on the House Sessions in the Gallery. E-Mail Dennis Arakaki if you or your church group is planning on attending.
SHOW ALOHA
If you are so moved when visiting a legislative Office, bring a small gift to demonstrate aloha for all that they do. We would appreciate any suggestions you might have in terms of a gift of aloha.
