Djou for Hawaii, the Federal campaign committee for Honolulu City Councilmember Charles K. Djou’s race for Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District filed its required 1st Quarter campaign finance report with the Federal Elections Commission today. Through March 31, 2010, Djou for Hawaii:

Raised almost $300,000 in the 1st quarter of 2010;

Has just under $500,000 cash on hand;
-
Over 2000 people have donated to the Djou campaign;
-
The median contribution is $100;
-
83% of Djou’s donors are from the State of Hawaii.
“We are excited about Charles’ campaign to change the direction of Congress. Having made over 20,000 volunteer phone calls and knocking on over 15,000 doors in Mililani, Ewa Beach, Hawaii Kai, and everywhere in between, we have heard that Charles’ message of fiscal responsibility and government accountability is resonating with the people of Hawaii. People are tired of elected officials who care more about themselves, than they do about the people they represent,” stated Dylan Nonaka, Djou for Hawaii campaign manager. “Our strong finance numbers are one of several indicators of the growing enthusiasm and momentum for Charles in this special election. Charles understands, however, that the only number that counts is the number of votes cast in the election.”
Djou is currently a member of the Honolulu City Council and previously served as the Minority Floor Leader in the Hawaii State House. He is the only major Republican candidate for Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District.
