ED CASE’S RECORD OF TAX INCREASES—PART 1

From Hawaii Republican Party

Democrat congressional candidate Ed Case is attempting to portray himself as someone who is fiscally responsible.  A look at his record, however, uncovers the truth: While in Congress, Ed Case was a reliable vote for imposing higher taxes on middle-class families and small businesses. Here’s the first in a series of releases highlighting Case’s fiscal irresponsibility:

In 2004, Case voted to allow a tax increase for the middle class. He voted with the vast minority against a bipartisan bill that would have extended for one year the current income exemptions from the alternative minimum tax. (House Roll Call 144, 05/05/04)

“As voters decide who they want representing them in Washington, it’s important to study the candidate’s actions not their campaign rhetoric.  Ed Case says he will exercise fiscal restraint and highlights his membership as a ‘Blue Dog Democrat,’ but his Congressional votes clearly indicate he’s just another Democrat that supports increased taxes for Hawai'i.  In contrast, Charles Djou has a message of fiscal accountability and pledges to lower taxes on Hawai'i’s families and small businesses.  He can walk to the walk too; he has never voted for a tax increase,” said Jonah Ka'auwai, Chairman, Hawai'i Republican Party.

Stay tuned for more tax increases courtesy of Ed Case.
