Djou vs The Machine: We Care
By News Release @ 5:56 PM :: 7232 Views :: Honolulu County, Homelessness, Rail

Message to Supporters,   August 15, 2016

Against all odds, in 67 days, we fought the incumbent mayor to an effective tie.  We now know with certainty that we have a 50/50 chance of winning this election, but we're going up against the machine that has controlled this state for the last 60 years.  And, they aren't going to let us win this mayoral race without a fight.

They don't care that people are struggling.  They don't care that people have to work two jobs just to make ends meet.  They don't care that many people cannot afford the high cost of living and live in their cars and on the streets.  But, we do.

They only care about their own self interests.  They want to keep building thousands of high end luxury condominiums, but no affordable housing.  They want to line their pockets with government contracts.

We need to elect Charles to put an end to this.  But Charles can only win with your help.  The reality is that campaigns need funds to communicate with voters.  Please consider giving $25, $50 or whatever amount you can afford.

It's clear that the machine and the select few that run this state will do everything they can to keep Caldwell in power.  Look at the more than $700,000 in campaign contributions from RAIL CONTRACTORS that Caldwell has received.  How about the bank job Caldwell has making $200,000/yr for 2 hours of a work a month (in addition to his current job as mayor)?

We can only win this election if we all do our part.  The machine has all the money and all the resources.  All we have is the MAJORITY of the people, who care about their neighbors and this community, and are willing to stand up and do something about it.  We collectively have the ability to make a difference but only if we work together to do so.

Charles needs your help.  He's doing his part -- he's fighting the machine and thanks to you we are now at a 50/50 chance of winning his race.

But we will only win, if you give of your time and resources.  Please consider a donation of $25, $50 or whatever amount you can afford up to the maximum of $4,000.

You know Charles is honest and ethical.  You know he'll do what's right regardless of the personal cost.  If we all work together, we can make sure our message of responsibility and accountability is heard. Your contribution of $100 or $50 or $25 will make a tremendous difference.

Aloha,
