Caldwell Planning Smear Tactics?
By Rep Charles Djou @ 5:11 PM :: 5949 Views :: Honolulu County, Politicians

Message to Supporters    July 6, 2016

Yesterday, Civil Beat published a podcast where leading political commentators remarked that the incumbent mayor's re-election prospects are "in trouble for all kinds of reasons." They added the mayor's incoherent position on rail is "absolutely a flip-flop."  Speculation is also rampant that our team enjoys anywhere from a 6-point to a solid double-digit polling lead in this race.  This speaks volumes about how strong our campaign is even though we have been running for less than one month.

Unfortunately, precisely because our campaign to restore trust to Honolulu Hale is running so strong, it means this race will soon get ugly.  The same podcast warns that our opponent will likely play "hardball" and deploy political smear tactics similar to what was used four years ago to "destroy" Ben Cayetano.  DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS.

We chose to run for mayor despite knowing how dirty the political machine will be, because we believe we must fix the mess with the rail, address the homeless crisis, and re-establish faith in the Ethics system right now.  Our community can't wait four more years.  Will you help us?

We have one of the strongest campaign starts in modern Hawaii political history, but we need your financial support to fight back against the looming ugly dirty tricks our opponent and his allies are planning.  Will you consider making a contribution of $50, $100, $250 or any amount up to the limit of $4,000 to help us restore trust at City Hall and combat the mayor's political machine?  If you have time, please consider volunteering.

We can fight back against City Hall, but only with your immediate help.  Mahalo.

Aloha,

Team Djou
