2016 Sine Die
From Office of Rep Beth Fukumoto Chang, May 6, 2016
The 2016 Legislative Session has officially come to a close! I would like to thank you for all of your support, your suggestions, and your comments as the House and Senate conducted its legislative work for the year. The next legislative session will resume in January 2017; however, during the interim, please feel free to contact me with any issues, concerns, or potential bill ideas (it's never too early!) at repfukumoto@capitol.hawaii.gov or 586-9460.

Heat Abatement Bill Becomes Law
On Thursday, Governor Ige signed SB3126 - Relating to Public Schools into law. The new law appropriates funds for air conditioning, heat abatement, and related energy efficiency measures at public schools statewide.
I had the privilege to attend the bill signing ceremony for this critical issue. This law will enable the Department of Education to provide much needed relief to students and classrooms throughout Hawaii. My colleagues in the legislature and I are thankful to the Governor for his strong support of this legislation.
