NATIONAL FEDERATION OF REPUBLICAN ASSEMBLIES (NFRA) ANNOUNCES HAWAII'S WILLES K. LEE AS NEW PRESIDENT
News Release from NFRA
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Longtime political partisan Willes K. Lee has been named as the sixth president of the conservative National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), which oversees state and county chapters of activist Republicans nationwide.
Lee served as NFRA's Pacific Region Vice President prior to his election as NFRA Executive Vice President in 2015. He is also the National Director of the Hawaii Republican Assembly (HIRA).
Willes Lee began his career in public service after graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point and becoming a Ranger and Airborne qualified Armor officer. He is a 22-year veteran of the Cold War on the Czechoslovakian border, the fight against terrorism in Europe, Operation Desert Storm, and five years with the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon.
Lee is a member of the Board of the American Conservative Union (ACU) Foundation, hosts of the annual CPAC mega-gathering, and is a current candidate to serve on the board of directors for the National Rifle Association (NRA).
While leading insurgent conservative Republicans at the NFRA, Lee continues to serve as a founding and current member with the RNC's Conservative Caucus, the group of twenty most conservative members of the Republican National Committee who actively promote conservative Republican principles, policies, and politics, and to educate the public. Lee is the only member from Hawaii having served since his term as State Chairman of the Hawaii Republican Party from 2007-2009.
Lee is married with two grown daughters. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration. He has been a leader or member of many political and issue-oriented campaigns at every level of Hawaii state politics, and in New Mexico, Virginia, and Delaware. Willes lives in Honolulu.
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies is a grassroots movement to take back the Republican Party for the vast and disenfranchised majority of its members who are often called "Reagan conservatives" -- those who believe in small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and a decent America. In short, the NFRA is 'the Republican Wing of the Republican Party'.
On his naming as president, Willes Lee told NFRA directors: "Through your hard work, 2016 has realized the fulfillment of our movement's potential to send the strongest possible message to the Republican establishment during an election cycle like no other in recent memory. Going forward, we will work to consolidate and expand the influence of conservatives, our reforms, and our policy solutions at every level of government in post-Obama America."
Lee succeeds Sharron Angle who left her post at the NFRA to make another run for U.S. Senate in Nevada to succeed Harry Reid.
