First Decking
Today (March 4th) marks the First Decking deadline for the 2016 Legislative Session. All bills under consideration for crossing over to the other chamber must be in their final form 48 hours prior to Third Reading. Decking ensures adequate time for final review by legislators before voting.

Pacific Century Fellows Panel
It was an honor to participate in the Pacific Century Fellows panel this week. The Pacific Century Fellows is a program that brings together up to 32 individuals from across the State to gain a broader understanding of civic duty though the senior community, government and social leaders. Participants come from diverse backgrounds and are leaders in their fields and professions.
We sat down with the program fellows to discuss the legislative process, responsibilities of being in a leadership role, and priorities of both the majority and minority parties for the 2016 legislative session.

Secondary Students Conference
Last Saturday (2/27), I had the opportunity to meet with student leaders from Mililani High School and discuss the importance of becoming civically engaged. These students are all so bright and driven. I cannot wait to see what they will accomplish in the future.
