Hawaii Family Forum urges continued voter registration effort
By News Release @ 1:13 PM :: 8460 Views :: Energy, Environment

(Here are some announcements from the Hawaii Family Forum and related materials.)

The Hawaii State House voted to defer HB444 indefinitely.

What this means is that in all likelihood the measure will not come again.  What it doesn't mean is that the bill is dead.

The first thing we should do is continue to pray and thank God for His grace and mercy. We appreciate all your prayers on behalf of Hawaii Family Forum and Hawaii Catholic Conference -- most especially for Dennis Arakaki and Eva Andrade. Remember that we are witnesses to Christ in all that we do and say and we must always show compassion to those who do not agree with us.

We are asking you to thank all the Representatives for their courageous action in putting the will and the priority of the people first.

Finally, we ask you to stay vigilant.  Check our website www.HawaiiFamilyForum.org on a regular basis for updates. Our efforts on the iVOTE campaign are continuing so we will keep you posted on that as well.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to raise your voices!

FROM THE DESK OF DENNIS ARAKAKI

Aloha to all the Saints and faithful,

Thank you for your prayers and your action on behalf of God's righteousness...

Please say a special prayer for, and thank especially, Speaker Calvin Say...He took an extraordinary step to come down from the podium to make the motion to postpone HB444 indefinitely, knowing that he would bear the brunt of the anger and venom from the House in denying Civil Unions. He could have easily asked one of the other members to make that motion.  Pray for covering for him and his family and staff.  Thank him for his courage and sacrifice.  ie. He will "bear the cross" for all of his House members.  (To send an email to Speaker Say, click here.)  You can call also call his office at (808)586-6100.

He made the motion which was seconded by Rep. Cindy Evans (Big Island) which was carried by a unanimous voice vote.  It will now take an extraordinary 2/3 votes to bring it back on the table for action.

Thank all the representatives, (click here to send an email to all the House members) whether they were for and against HB444.  Pour blessings upon them and their staff that they will be able to find solutions to the tough issues facing the state because of the economy.

When you go to Church this weekend, give God the Glory and let everyone know what a wonderful thing He did!  To send a personal message to your own Representative, use the link below.
