HAWAII GOP CALLS ON DEMOCRATS TO RETURN CONTRIBUTIONS FROM SANDWICH ISLES COMMUNICATIONS LEADER
News Release from Hawaii Republican Party
HONOLULU (October 23, 2015) - Today, the Hawaii Republican Party called on Hawaii Democrats to return the thousands of dollars in campaign contributions they received from convicted felon Al Hee and his corporate entities, Waimana Enterprises and Sandwich Isles Communications.
Federal Communications Commissioner Ajit Pai called the corrupt practices of Sandwich Isles Communications, which led to multiple federal criminal convictions of its corporate leader, Al Hee, a “disgrace.” The Hawaii GOP agrees.
“Al Hee and Sandwich Isles played an integral part in perpetuating Hawaii’s one-party political machine and used their political connections to line their own pockets,” stated Hawaii GOP Chair Fritz Rohlfing. “That’s why the Hawaii Republican Party calls upon all of the politicians who received political campaign contributions from Sandwich Isles and its corrupt leadership to immediately return those contributions. Because of the high office she holds, Senator Hirono particularly needs to step up and return the campaign contributions she received from Mr. Hee."
All of the campaign contributions made by Al Hee, Waimana Enterprises and Sandwich Isles Communications were given exclusively to Democrats and the Democratic Party.
