HONOLULU POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

HONOLULU – Attorney General Douglas Chin announced today that Honolulu Police Officer Siave Seti, 29, has been charged with Assault in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to one year jail and/or a $2,000 fine. The complaint alleges that on February 24, 2015, Mr. Seti caused bodily injury to a Palolo Valley man. Mr. Seti appeared today for arraignment and plea before the Honorable Lono Lee, has entered a plea of not guilty, and demanded a jury trial. On August 13, 2015, Mr. Seti will be re-arraigned in Circuit Court pursuant to jury demand.
A complaint is merely an allegation and Mr. Seti is presumed innocent until found guilty of the charge beyond a reasonable doubt by a judge or jury.
