HAWAII'S INEFFECTIVE CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION CAN'T GET THE JOB DONE FOR HAWAII
News Release from Hawaii Republican Party
HONOLULU (July 9, 2015) - Fritz Rohlfing, State Chair of the Hawaii Republican Party, released the statement regarding today's announcement of the significant cuts and structure realignment of U.S. Army troops in Hawaii:
"Today’s announcement by the U.S. Army that it is cutting 1,214 soldiers and several hundred Stryker armored vehicles from Schofield Barracks, along with 229 soldiers from Fort Shafter, further demonstrates the urgent need for Hawaii to have representation in the congressional Republican majority.
"Our exclusively Democratic congressional delegation just isn’t getting the job done and is ranked the least effective congressional delegation in the United States by Roll Call newspaper. As Representative Tulsi Gabbard has candidly pointed out, Hawaii could face deeper reductions if across-the-board federal budget cuts continue.”
