Survey: OHA seeks input about Mauna Kea
Views on OHA's mission fulfillment
News Release from OHA April 27, 2015
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is seeking responses to an anonymous 5-question survey to provide its Board of Trustees helpful information for the Board’s Thursday (4/30) meeting on the planned Mauna Kea thirty-meter telescope.
The survey asks participants about how possible OHA stances on the planned Mauna Kea thirty-meter telescope affects their views regarding OHA’s efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians.
The survey is not intended to be a scientific poll. The survey results will serve only as a general indicator of people’s views for the OHA Board’s consideration.

Survey Questions:
1. If OHA trustees were to reaffirm their stance supporting the location of the planned thirty-meter telescope (TMT) on Mauna Kea, how would that affect your views regarding OHA's efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians?
2. If OHA trustees were to rescind their support for the location of the planned TMT on Mauna Kea (resulting in a neutral, neither "for" or "against" stance), how would that affect your views regarding OHA's efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians?
3. If OHA trustees were to take a stance to oppose the location of the TMT on Mauna Kea, how would that affect your views regarding OHA's efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians?
4. How important would OHA's stance on the TMT/Mauna Kea issue be in shaping your overall views of OHA's efforts to fulfill its mission to improve the conditions of Native Hawaiians?
5. Are you Native Hawaiian/Kanaka Maoli/Kanaka 'Ōiwi?
