Chief Justice Appoints William M. Domingo as Oahu District Court Judge

Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald has appointed William M. Domingo to the District Court of First Circuit (Oahu). He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Leslie Hayashi.

Domingo has nearly 30 years of experience as an attorney, after receiving his law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 1985. He currently works in private practice at the Law Office of William M. Domingo. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the District of Hawaii and a Hawaii State Public Defender, as well as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General.

Domingo is a past president of the Hawaii Filipino Lawyers Association, board member and past president of the Kalihi YMCA and Susannah Wesley Community Center, and a Mock Trial Coach at Farrington High School.

The Chief Justice appoints District Court judges from a list of not less than six nominees submitted by the Judicial Selection Commission.

If confirmed by the State Senate, Domingo will serve a term of six years.
