Kanaiolowalu Roll Quietly Reopened Last Week

Registration for the Kanaiolowalu Roll quietly reopened last week.

At this time there has been no public announcement of the reopening of the Kana'iolowalu Roll anywhere other than messages posted on the Roll website.  Apparently the change was made August 22 without any public notice.  A page on the Roll Commission website reads:

Modified on: Fri, 22 Aug, 2014 at 3:03 pm

Due to high demand and a new January 2015 date for the election of delegates to the governance convention, the Kanaʻiolowalu Native Hawaiian Roll is re-opened. Online registration is available and will remain open until a few weeks prior the election.

A similar message appears on the front page of the Roll Commission website.  But another page on the website still reads:

"Registration Time Period: The registration will commence on July 20, 2012, and end on January 19, 2014. A special extension from March 17 to May 1, 2014 was approved by the Commission to accommodate Hawaiians wishing to sign on to the roll following the announcement of a Fall 2014 election of delegates to a convention, or ‘Aha."

Did OHA Trustees vote to reopen the roll?  Did the Roll Commission vote to reopen the Roll?  Where are the meeting announcements and agendas required by the Hawaii Sunshine laws?

When will the roll be closed again?  The announcement is not specific, saying only that registration, "will remain open until a few weeks prior the election."
