Hawaii spends the least outside of necessities like food and shelter
WSJ: ...the Commerce Department breaks down the types of spending per state. And here one state jumps out: Hawaii. Hawaii residents spent the least outside of necessities, defined as food and beverages for off-premises consumption, gasoline, housing and utilities, and health care. That bundle accounts for just 34% of spending, compared with 54% nationally, as Hawaii residents spent a disproportionate amount on housing (33%) and food (12%)....
