Dr. Akina and Mr. Hoffman delve into the challenges inherent in educating policy makers and politicians about free market solutions to pressing state issues–an intriguing comparison because, though Idaho has a strongly Republican government (much as Hawaii is heavily controlled by the Democratic Party), the lack of meaningful competition between political parties can be stifling to new ideas, regardless of the underlying ideology.
