Djou: $100,000 in 100 Hours
By Rep Charles Djou @ 7:57 PM :: 5812 Views :: Politicians, Republican Party

April 8, 2014 update from Djou campaign: "We hit our goal and raised over $100K in the first 100 hours of our candidacy.  In four days, we managed to raise more than many of the Dem candidates running raised over months."

April 7, 2014

Aloha,

A few days ago, I announced that I would run for the open seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.  The response has been nothing short of amazing and truly humbling.

Thanks to your early support we have raised almost $100,000 in less than 100 hours since I announced my candidacy.  We are just $10,000 short of our goal!

If we can get to that crucial $100,000 mark in the next few hours, we will send a clear and unequivocal message that we are committed to changing the direction of politics in Hawaii and in Washington, and that we will have a campaign strong enough to withstand the negative campaigning that is sure to come our way.  May I count on your support now?

Your contribution of $250, $100 or even $50 will demonstrate that together we can win this race and make a positive difference in our government for our future and our children’s future.

The next Congressional election will present a stark choice between positive change and more business as usual.  I’m asking you to join me in bringing change to Hawaii’s Congressional delegation, change to Washington, and change to Hawaii.

We start with good polling numbers.  In a recent survey taken by the Honolulu Star Advertiser and Hawaii News Now in February, before we even started campaigning, we have the highest favorability rating of any candidate, Democrat or Republican, running in Hawaii’s 1st Congressional District:

NAME Favorable Unfavorable Never heard of

DJOU (R) 58% 30% 4%
KIM (D) 49% 22% 17%
TAKAI (D) 34% 10% 36%
ANDERSON (D) 33% 13% 27%
CHANG (D) 22% 12% 47%
ESPERO (D) 22% 14% 43%
XIAN (D) 3% 4% 82%

While it is nice to begin with a lead at the start of a campaign, we can only end with a lead with your help.

Your contribution today in any amount will demonstrate to the pundits in Washington the strength and support behind our campaign.

Mahalo in advance for your kindness and generous support!

Aloha,

Charles Djou

Member of Congress
