SCHATZ LEADING DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY BY 4 POINTS IN NEW HAWAII SENATE POLL

Honolulu, HI – The Schatz for Hawaii campaign released a new poll today showing U.S. Senator Schatz leading the Democratic primary and the voters of Hawaii increasingly lending their support to Senator Schatz. The poll, conducted by The Mellman Group, has Schatz leading by four percentage points. Among those who have already had the chance to weigh and measure both candidates, Senator Schatz’s lead expands to double-digits.
The Mellman Group has over two decades of experience polling in Hawaii, including the winning campaigns of Senator Inouye, Senator Akaka and Congresswoman Gabbard. Since their last poll conducted in June 2013, Senator Schatz’s share of support has increased by four points – from 37 percent to 41 percent – while Rep. Hanabusa’s support has remained static.
