Hawaii Family Forum Call to Action to Defend Natural Marriage

“Call to Action” From Hawaii Family Forum July 4, 2013

Dear Friend of the Family:     July 4, 2013

With the disappointing U.S. Supreme Court decisions in the two same sex  marriage cases, proponents of same sex marriage have been marshaling their vast resources to pass same sex marriage in Hawaii.  Immense pressure has been placed on our state legislators by the local and national gay rights lobby, local and national media, our Congressional Representatives and Senators, President and Governor.  Because both chambers have met over the past week to seek support establishing same-sex marriage in Hawaii, your kokua is urgently needed.

We ask you to visit and/or call your legislator immediately, and respectfully ask them to:

(Send your message through votervoice here)

1) Support natural marriage between one man and one woman and not to redefine marriage to include same sex marriage.

2)  If your legislator supports same sex marriage, them ask them to let the people decide by voting for a Constitutional Amendment in 2014 to allow it.

3)  Ask all legislators to pass a constitutional amendment to protect religious liberty.  Here are some examples: churches and religious organizations should not be forced to use their premises to solemnize or celebrate same sex relations (unions/marriage); pastors should not be required to solemnize such relationships; parents should receive notices and be allowed to opt their children out of any type of sex education classes (including celebration of same sex and transgendered relationships), churches and their ministries should not be required to provide services reserved exclusively for opposite married couples.

(NOTE:  Discrimination is already happening in HawaiiSee the Aloha Bed & Breakfast story here and its current status.)

4)  Thank them for their time and remember to lift them up in prayer.  We are certain they are getting lobbied extensively by supporters and activists.

5)  Ask all your families, friends and neighbors for their kokua as well.

6)  Finally, please prayerfully consider a one-time donation or a monthly donation to help us fight this battle. Thank you for your prayers, faithfulness and support.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July!  We pray for you each of you and your families as we celebrate the birth of our great nation.
