Hurricane? Honolulu 4th Most Overdue and Vulnerable

Honolulu has not had a direct hit from a major hurricane hit in recent recorded history.

Though Honolulu has never received a direct hit from a hurricane, other parts of Hawaii have been by major hurricanes. Hurricane Iniki in 1992 was the most powerful hurricane to hit Hawaii in recorded history.  It was a Category 4 storm when it made landfall on the island of Kaua'i, causing $1.8 billion in damage.
