Termite Tent Violation Links Miske to Teamsters, ILWU Violence
ILind: … what the jury didn’t hear, at least not during Russo’s testimony, is that the new homeowner, Jon “Sudee” Dahl, who backed up Miske’s “photo shoot” explanation, was not simply a client who happened to have hired Miske’s company to fumigate his newly purchased home.
Miske and Dahl were friends and business partners, and Dahl had just received a $550,000 mortgage loan from Miske’s Kamaaina Termite to finance the purchase of the house.
A warranty deed transferring the property to Dahl from its former owners was recorded with the state Bureau of Conveyances on May 12, 2011, the day after the tenting incident. The new warranty deed was signed by Dahl and his wife on May 5, the same day as the $550,000 mortgage, and countersigned by the sellers on May 10. Both ducuments were then recorded with the Bureau of Conveyances on the 12th, where they were assigned consecutive document numbers.
Miske and Dahl had crossed paths in the Teamster’s film unit, where both have been drivers in the past. Dahl is the owner of Hawaii Film Trucks And Equipment LLC, a company that provides vehicles for film productions.
In 2002, Dahl was charged with assault after a fight with a driver from a rival Teamster faction. The charges were dismissed “without prejudice” after the victim failed to appear in court. Prosecutors did not refile the charges.
State business registration records show Miske and Dahl registered a new company, Kamaaina Rolloffs LLC, in January 2009….
Later, in August 2014, Miske, Dahl, and a third person, Jill Perry, registered another new company, Laura Ann Fisheries LLC, which owned the 69′ fishing vessel, Laura Ann….
Perry is the wife of Bruce Perry, a former stevedore who was tried on assault charges stemming from the 1994 beating of a co-worker on the Matson docks. The victim, Rocky Tahara, had complained that as many as a dozen employees, including Perry, were “ghost” workers who disappeared soon after beginning their shifts, but received their full daily pay. Tahara was left blinded in one eye, and eventually won a civil judgement against Perry for $2.3 million, but was never able to collect the money….

9 indicted for allegedly selling over 150 pounds of meth
SA: … Nine people have been indicted by a federal grand jury over an alleged years-long drug trafficking conspiracy run by the Mexican mafia out of a California prison that was distributing large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl and carfentanil throughout Oahu, Kauai, Maui and Hawaii island, as well as on the mainland.
Federal law enforcement seized over 150 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 1 kilo of fentanyl, 4 kilos of carfentanil, numerous firearms and ammunition, and over $150,000 in cash, according to court records unsealed Friday. Records of more than 50 drug and money shipments over a seven-month period were also taken.
As of Thursday, eight of the defendants were arrested on Oahu, Kauai and Hawaii island. The indictments were handed down April 4 and unsealed following the arrests.
Anthony Bravo — who remains in custody in California — Leonard Gutierrez (also known as “Lucky” and “Lenny”) , Nathan “Butch” Ahhoy Lee, Jorelyn “JoJo” C. Pacariem, Dominic Gomes, Faith Michelle Nelson, Trish Leila Henderson (also known as Trish Leila Silva), Francis Anthony Abergas Jr. and Kennard Hinano Boyd Kekona were charged in a 44-count indictment secured April 4.
“The drug charges in the indictment are the result of the defendants’ involvement in a (drug trafficking organization) that pumped pounds of dangerous drugs into the community on Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii Island over a significant period of time. The nature of these offenses weighs strongly in favor of detention,” wrote Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret C. Nammar, in a memorandum in support of the government’s motion to detain the defendants without bail until their trial. “The circumstances of these drug charges also weigh strongly in favor of detention. Bravo and Gutierrez are believed to be affiliated with the Mexican Mafia and are charged with distributing substantial amounts of drugs, including the extremely lethal drug carfentanil.” ….

Trump VP: Tulsi Gabbard not hot enough?
P: … Guaranteed it’ll be a woman, because he is right now so deep down into the dumpster when it comes to women that he needs to show that he’s not the sexist misogynist that he is. And I think if he could find a woman of color, that would be better. But he won’t do it. I see somebody like a Nancy Mace or maybe even [Sen. Katie] Britt, because of their looks.
That’s important to Donald Trump?
Very, very. He believes in optics. It’s almost like why he would walk and he’d have Hope Hicks right by his side, shoulder to shoulder. He believes that everyone is sort of as mentally corrupt as he is, and he’s visual. So like with “The Apprentice,” him coming off the helicopter with 30 beautiful women following behind him? He thinks it makes him look bigger and more important.
So I do believe it will be a woman. I believe that, in his mind, he will consider her to be attractive. He also needs somebody who will not outshine him. That’s why somebody like a Nikki Haley could never be the choice. She’s too strong a person and she would suck up some of his oxygen in the room. And for Donald, owning all the oxygen in the room is what he constantly needs. It’s what keeps him going….

Hawaii a Vacation Destination Middle-Class Families Can’t Afford Anymore
YN: … Aida Mollenkamp, travel planner and founder of Salt & Wind Travel, noted that many of her agency’s clients are starting to struggle with Hawaii’s costs.
“The major issue is that hotel rates, meals and tours are more expensive than before. Historically, our clients have been between a boutique four-star and five-star traveler, but have largely had to go down a class in hotels to meet their budget,” said Mollenkamp. “We now suggest they budget at least $800 per day for lodging, transport, activities and food for a trip for 2 (but again, that will rarely cover a five-star these days).”….
(CLUE: London, Paris, Italy and The Maldives are cheaper.)
