Fort Street Mall murder suspect was arrested and released the day after the attack

KITV: … A man was initially arrested for the attempted murder but later released from police custody after he was misidentified by a witness.

On the same night, the man charged in the murder, 30-year-old Razi Ali White, was arrested for criminal property damage at Ala Moana Beach Park. At his arraignment and plea on the following day, Judge Shimozono (a former public defender and criminal defense attorney) released White on the condition he would appear in court as scheduled.

White eluded police for ten days before he was arrested for murder Friday morning.

He was also arrested on an $11k warrant for criminal property damages and theft.

Prosecutors charged White with second-degree murder late Friday. He is in custody at Oahu Community Correctional Center and held on a $500k bail ….

Murder: Miske Lawyers Plan to Blame Pregnant Girl

SA: … Attorneys for Michael Miske have accused federal prosecutors of ignoring the rules of discovery and not producing evidence — including text messages that show the parents of the man allegedly murdered at the order of the accused crime boss believed their son’s pregnant girlfriend and her father were responsible for his disappearance.

The U.S. Department of Justice alleges that Miske mistakenly believed that Jonathan Fraser, then 21, was the driver of the car the night Miske’s son was injured in a crash on Kaneohe Bay Drive on Nov. 15, 2015. Fraser, Caleb-Jordan Miske-Lee’s best friend, was a passenger in the car and Miske- Lee died of his injuries in March 2016.

Fraser vanished July 30, 2016, and his car was found on Kuliouou Road. He was allegedly kidnapped, killed, wrapped in a large fish bag and dumped at sea, according to federal court documents. The white Toyota Sienna van used to transport Fraser’s body was abandoned and burned ….

Sovereignty Activist: My Criminal Past as an Armed Robber Makes me who I am Now

ILind: … the organization’s leader, who goes by the name Sam Lilikoi, made a short live broadcast the following morning from his small sailboat, which he refers to as the OFHA “warship.” The video can be viewed on Lilikoi’s Facebook page.

Lilikoi, whose real name is Eric Christian Allen Nelson, commented that despite what he views as errors in reporting, the news coverage has given the group a public profile and visibility it previously lacked.

In reply to the disclosure that he was convicted of a series of armed robberies in the early 1990s, and was sentenced to 20 years incarceration. At the time, he became known as the “bicycle bandit.”

“That was a long time ago,” Lilikoi said. “Sometimes our past makes us who we are now. I’m going to be thankful for my past.”…

Kai Kahele trips over his own hubris in late bid for governor

Shapiro: … he’s been a willing beneficiary of the pay-to-play system he now decries during four years in the Legislature and 16 months in Congress.

Kahele, who flies for Hawaiian Airlines in addition to his congressional post, accepted donations exceeding $1.7 million since 2019, the biggest from corporations, labor unions and PACs — $20,000 from the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, $18,000 from Matson Inc. and $15,000 each from the Air Line Pilots Association and the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.

He collected 166 PAC donations totaling nearly $300,000 from diverse lobbies such as lawyers, real estate developers, defense contractors and gambling interests. These donations continued through the first quarter of this year, while Kahele was mostly absent from Washington pondering his run for governor.

In eschewing such donations in the governor’s race, he seeks to make a virtue of a necessity.

He’s in the race late, can’t transfer his federal campaign funds to the state race, and most big donors have already committed to his Democratic opponents, Lt. Gov. Josh Green and businesswoman Vicki Cayetano….

Kahele explained his absence from Washington by saying he and his family didn’t like living there. Essentially, he’s leaving a job he promised a long-term commitment to seek a promotion to governor because it’s a better lifestyle choice.

He had his Oprah moment on “Spotlight Hawaii” when he cried as he proclaimed his love for Hawaii and his kids….
