Harry Kim Endorses Mauna Kea Protest – ‘Hawaiian Cultural Renaissance’

HNN: … During a high-stakes interview with Harry Kim, the 80-year-old Hawaii County mayor repeatedly referred to his commitment in finding a peaceful way forward despite, what appears to be an impossible impasse.

When asked how he thinks it could all end, he went on tangents ….

Hawaii News Now asked Kim if he was supportive of arrests to uphold the law.

"Am I supportive? I guess that's a word you can use. Am I obligated to follow that? I guess so. The question is not whether I like it or not. There's many laws I don't like," he said.

(Contrast this to what Kim says about the protest, below.)

After past rumors of an overnight raid, Kim promised to let the public know if TMT plans to once again move its equipment for grading at the summit site, but he refused to give specifics on how much time would be given between notification and potential road closures….

Kim says he told Governor Ige during their last conversation that the controversy has sparked a Hawaiian cultural renaissance…

(IQ Test: Did Harry Kim just endorse the protesters?)

Despite clearly defined positions, both Wong-Wilson and Kim told Hawaii News Now they are talking.

"We actually have been taking all along so even though it may not be visible to everyone or a public discussion, there have been many discussions, many attempts to come together," she said….

(Bottom Line: Harry Kim is the problem.)

HPD Ex-Officer and Tweeker Girlfriend Could Escape Fentanyl Bust After Kealoha Drug Plea

CB: … Masunaga was arrested at her home in 2015 along with Alan Ahn, a Honolulu police officer. The police seized all sorts of drugs in the house, including cocaine, marijuana and a number of prescription painkillers. They also found the deadly opioid fentanyl.

Together, Masunaga and Ahn were charged with a series of felonies.

Now, years later, Kealoha has admitted in court to taking control of the investigation and subsequent prosecution to cover for her younger brother, Rudolph Puana, the man who federal investigators say supplied the prescription drugs.

Masunaga’s attorney, William Harrison, says that should be enough to clear his client….

According to federal prosecutors, Puana, Kealoha and their friends, including local author Christopher McKinney, would trade prescription drugs, such as fentanyl and oxycodone, for cocaine. Authorities say Kealoha was using cocaine even while working as a city prosecutor.

In July 2015, a Honolulu police detective working for the department’s secretive Criminal Intelligence Unit learned that Puana and McKinney were involved in the alleged drug scheme.

That detective, Daniel Sellers, grew up with Puana and McKinney. He also knew Kealoha. She was his former high school girlfriend and the wife of his boss at the time, Honolulu Police Chief Louis Kealoha.

Federal officials say Sellers told Kealoha that Puana and McKinney were buying cocaine from Masunaga and that another Honolulu police officer, Alan Ahn, appeared to be involved in the illicit activity.

According to the plea agreement, that’s when Kealoha had herself assigned to the case and manipulated the investigation away from her brother and her friend, McKinney….

‘Driving Report' Tax Hike Propaganda from HDoT Coming to Your Mailbox

HNN: … Beginning this month, the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will mail driving reports to thousands of vehicle owners across the state. This is the next step in researching the feasibility of (suckering the public into) adjusting to a per-mile road usage charge (RUC) to fund…

(Translation: The fake ‘report’ will make it seem that you will save money with a road usage charge.)

(IQ Test: Will you believe them?)

Vehicle owners who get this customized report are asked to complete an online questionnaire at www.hiruc.org. Completed questionnaires are the best way for the public to provide input (HDoT to make it appear that the public supports this scam).

Residents are encouraged to visit www.hiruc.org to learn more, sign up to receive email updates on the research, and volunteer.

Ala Moana Park Scheme Pushed by Caldwell Donors

ILind: … A recent post here traced the campaign contributions to Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell from the directors of a nonprofit group that has lobbied the mayor, and his city administration, to support a proposed children’s playground in a section of Ala Moana Park. All of the directors were shown to be directly linked to developers of the ultra-luxury Park Lane condominium across the street at Ala Moana Center….

Burglars Were Shooting at Home when Police Arrived—Homeowner Arrested, his House gets Torched

SA: … Obrero’s wife stayed inside the house while her husband went outside. She told police she then heard multiple gunshots. When her husband came back, he allegedly told his wife he shot one of the males, the documents say.

When responding officers arrived, Obrero’s wife told police people were shooting at their house. Police entered the house and saw Richard Obrero wearing a bulletproof vest. He allegedly told police, “They shooting at me. They’re shooting my house.”

Police could hear what sounded like small pellets either from a BB or airsoft gun hitting the side of the home.

Police saw multiple males crouched behind vehicles in the housing complex. After being ordered to step away from the vehicles, one of the males yelled that Obrero shot his friend, police said.

(None of them have been arrested.)

Willy sustained a gunshot wound to his torso and was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Obrero gave officers a semi-automatic pistol and said, “I needed to defend myself,” according to police….
