Tommy Waters' Old Boy Network up to No Good Again

Dear Editor,      November 23, 2014

I was watching KHON2 yesterday and saw that Mr Waters was intending to file a recount. I am extremely disgusted as to why someone whose supporters broke the law would do such a thing.

On the morning of elections I drove to Wilson school to vote when I entered the area I saw over 40 people with Tommy Waters signs waving not less then 50 feet away from the polling station which already is illegal. However what got me most upset was when I approached the actual entrance as you can see by these pictures (see polling sign and Wilson school sign in the background) they where blocking and yelling Tommy Waters name. I actually felt intimidated. These people were no less then 20 feet away from where people vote. I have never felt a more disrespect for the law. This was allowed to go on for about a hour at two different locations and no telling since it was the morning time rush how many voters voted for Tommy because of this. I immediately ask the Poll Captain to do something about this and if you called the poll captain they would attest to this because many people in line were complaining.

I saw Tommy Waters drive by several times and he himself as the candidate did nothing about it as to condone such behavior. If anyone lost votes because of these actions it would be Tommy's opponent Ozawa. I saw this same group mail out many flyers to my house in behalf of Tommy. It seems there is some sort of big union group here that supports Mr. Waters and they will go to great lengths to win including cheating and filling frivolous recounts. I would hope that you would do a story on this and I am writing to you as a concerned citizen regarding these types of political behaviors.

With a election with so many blank votes and two new candidates, definitely marketing in front of the polling station can win you many votes and Tommy's team/supporters should be reprimanded for this behavior.  This breaks: 2013 Hawaii revised statues Title 2 elections 19 election offense 19-6 Misdemeanors section 7(A). I did further research into Mr. Waters to figure out why someone would file recount when the burden of proof is so high with no legitimate reasoning.   What I found interesting and "Murky Waters" is Tommy Waters was on the Judicial Selection Committee nominated by Calvin Say who was also on Tommy's flyers.  Is this why he wants to take a frivolous claim to a court in which he help selected some of these judges? Is Tommy trying to stack the deck?  The old boy network is up to no good again.

Sincerely,

Tammy Nishikawa

Misuse of Emergency Rooms Drives Medical Costs Up

Dear Editor,                 November 17, 2014

I continue to be impressed by your coverage of important issues in this community that are ignored by the routine press coverage.

One  important issue that you might consider to present is the abuse of the Emergency Room Services.  At least 30-40% of patients that appear in the Emergency Rooms are NOT really emergencies, and the patients have come there mainly for convenience in not wanting to wait or see their own physicians.  This activity lead to a much more expensive medical treatment

Sincerely,

Malcolm R. Ing, MD

A Completely Typical and Average Anti-GMO Activist Explains Why They Won on Maui

Dear Editor,   November 7, 2014

Nearly 40 years ago in 1965 the band The Byrds released the song Turn Turn Turn popularizing verses from the Old Testament Book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8: “To every thing there is a season. And a time to every purpose under heaven...” “Season” means an “appointed time” In Genesis 1:14 we get another important piece of the puzzle as to “Why Now?” “And God said: Let there be lights in the firmament to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons...”

The “purpose under the heaven” for the SHAKA movement could only have been at this point in time in history. It is this prophetic “season” the “appointed time.” How do we know this for sure? We are in an epic battle of the light over the darkness of corporate greed, corruption and unbridled power to control the people and the food supply of the world. So, what are the “signs?” In Joel 2:31”The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood...” Is it merely a coincidence that 2014 and 2015 are the years of the tetrad of blood moons when a full lunar eclipse occurs on Jewish high holidays?

On Passover April 15, 2014 the first blood moon occurred and the moon turned red. Then, on September 25, 2014 the 7th year of the 7 year Jewish schmita began on the Jewish new year of Rosh Hashanah. The word schmita means a “release.” In the traditional sense for the Jews of Israel it means in the 7th year the fields are to remain fallow, i.e. “plowed and left unseeded for a season or more..” and Jews are to release each other of their debts. In a spiritual context schmita means a release of energy.

On the Jewish high holiday of Sukkot, (means temporary shelter) October 9, 2014 the second blood moon of the tetrad occurred and then on October 19th a once in a million years comet the size of a small mountain traveling at a speed of 127,000 mph came within 87,000 miles of Mars. These are “signs” to mark time. Isn't is interesting that SHAKA defeats Monsanto, et al almost at the beginning of the shimita year when the fields should be left “unseeded for a season or more?” Defeating Monsanto and their ilk was the first major release of energy from Maui, the heart center of our solar system and milky way galaxy. The star wars have begun. The final battle to take back our island and our planet has now begun. Blood moons means BIG change.

On March 20, 2015 the prophecy of Joel 2:31 is fulfilled with a total solar eclipse of the sun (“the sun shall be turned into darkness”) and then on Passover April 4th the 3rd tetrad blood moon (“and the moon into blood.”). On September 13, 2014 the schmita year ends and culminates with the final blood moon on Sukkot, September 28, 2015. Between September 25, 2014 and September 28, 2015 the light will triumph over the darkness. The truth will be revealed and the darkness vanquished. This is not about religion. It is about love and the brotherhood of man. Monsanto et al represents everything that opposes this. Through unity, oneness and our being interconnected WE CAN DO IT. It is the “appointed time.”

There was another “sign” that SHAKA would prevail over Monsanto in the guise of a college football game. Our daughter Danielle graduated from TCU(Texas Christian University) in December 2010. The college football team with an undefeated season went to the Rose Bowl and beat the University of Wisconsin. Not since 2010 has the TCU Horned Frogs had a winning season until 2014. Ranked #7 in the nation TCU played West Virginia (ranked 20) two weeks ago. The wide receiver for WV was ranked #1 in the nation and was named Kevin White. The defender for TCU in the same position was also named Kevin White. Both were black. Kevin White for TCU literally shut down the other Kevin White. (symbolic) In the first quarter TCU was down 14-0 which was quite amazing for a team who scored 82 points the week before. Fast forward to the last minute of the game. TCU is losing 30-28 and gets within field goal range to beat WV 31-30. I told my wife Elise that this game was a sign from God that SHAKA would beat Monsanto in the final moments by a field goal. And that is exactly what happened. We won by a field goal to come from behind and defeated Monsanto and Dow.

Sincerely,

Bruce Travis

Kakaako at a Crossroads November 4

Open Letter to Residents of Ala Moana, Kakaako & Waikiki:

Our precious community is at a crossroads – let’s GET IN THE GAME!

1) Do we allow developers to build expensive condos for foreign investors on our precious land, without improving water, sewer and electrical power for local residents? My answer is NO.

2) Do we allow the homeless to take over our parks, sidewalks and store fronts? My answer is NO.

Sadly, our current legislators didn’t listen to us or solve these critical problems.

As your former State House Representative, N/B Chair, US Coast Guard Search & Rescue Vet & 22 year Ala Moana/Waikiki resident – I cannot sit on the sidelines.

It’s time to GET IN THE GAME.

Please join me -- GET IN THE GAME and VOTE for two outstanding, dedicated and talented candidates for Hawaii’s Legislature in our community – Chris Lethem (SD-12) & Janet Grace HD-22)

Chris Lethem advocates building affordable housing for local people -- he'll fight against expensive condos for offshore investors.  Chris proposed innovative "micro housing" -- small homes at $125K for homeless on fixed incomes.  For my fellow veterans, Chris is a former Marine with various overseas tours.  Chris will be "on duty" for us.

Janet Grace serves on the Waikiki Neighborhood Board and works as a Senior Health and Home Care Consultant.  She has the experience, skills and connections to humanely move the homeless out of Waikiki and into shelters -- in fact she does this every day!  Janet serves our community as a volunteer at the Next Step Homeless Shelter and as an elder caregiver.  She can solve the difficult issues for caregivers and kupuna.  Janet is also a veteran and likewise will be "on duty" for us.

Sincerely,

Anne Stevens (Former State Rep)

Kakaako, Oahu
