SB 69 will require fingerprinting and NICS checks in addition to the already existing registration requirement on ALL firearms brought into the state....

SB 69 leaves several things open to question or interpretation. For instance, it fails to define what constitutes an “extensive background check” or what constitutes a “mental health concern”....

Under this proposed legislation, Hawaiians would be subject to warrantless entry into their homes, warrantless seizure of their firearms and other weapons based solely on a mere “report” by a so-called “mental health professional.”

NRA-ILA is pleased to report that an attempt to repeal newly-enacted protections for National Rifle Association instructors has failed....

The average person who voluntarily surrenders a firearm to police is not a criminal and the firearms surrendered are not those misused by criminals....

The NRA will be actively fighting proposed anti-gun measures while keeping you updated on scheduled hearings and any action taken. While each bill has been assigned to a committee, most have not yet been scheduled for hearings.

No hunter or target shooter currently uses an “assault weapon”. The term is a political and media invention, intended to cause confusion....

...who is going to be held responsible if one of their patients decides to take out some poor store clerk? Is the shooter's doctor now a potential target for a lawsuit? Can the shooter claim at his trial that he was not properly counseled by his physician?

Hundreds of local hunters and their supporters rallied at the Capitol today as at least one Senator backed away from a gun control measure he had earlier introduced....

“Given the weak track record of federal mental health programs, states should exercise primary responsibility for determining appropriate mental health services, which will entail eliminating restrictions currently imposed by the federal government.”
