Abercrombie: “No new audits--people not interested in how to balance the budget”
By Andrew Walden @ 8:41 PM :: 6949 Views :: Energy, Environment

by Andrew Walden

Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie has released his “Recovery and Reinvestment Plan.”  Here are some of the best lines:

“…the people of Hawaii whom I have talked to are not interested in how politicians will balance the budget.”

“It has become all too easy to say that government is too big and ineffective….”

“The Lingle/Aiona administration’s dismantling of government has become an obstacle to business.”

“Eight years of disparaging and demoralizing public employees have left taxpayers with an overstrained workforce of public servants.”

“No new audits…”

Abercrombie also repeats his promise to take away your health insurance:  Abercrombie promises to dump Prepaid Health Care Act.

Aiona-Finnegan response: Plan to Implement a Plan?

From www.AionaFinnegan.com

HONOLULU - Duke Aiona today issued the following statement in response to his opponents' release of a plan to implement their plan.

"As we've said all along, our opponents' plan is heavy on rhetoric and light on substance.

"Writing a plan to implement a plan is exactly the type of Washington politics we don't need more of in Hawai‘i.

"Nothing in my opponents' new plan or their old plan would immediately create private sector jobs.

"This is a desperate attempt by our opponents to salvage their failing plan.

"Their plan to grow the size and scope of state government would increase the financial burden on our citizens and delay our long-term economic recovery.

"Our working families and small businesses want real solutions, and Lynn and I are the only candidates who will spark job growth in the private sector and make it easier for small businesses to grow."
