Inouye hospitalized after fall
The Hill: Inouye cut his head because of the fall and is receiving treatment at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He fell at his apartment in Rockville, Md
"The Senator fell this morning and sustained a minor cut to the back of his head. He did not lose consciousness but was taken to the Bethesda Naval Hospital as a precaution and will be released later today. The U.S. Army Captain and World War II combat veteran wanted to put a bandage on and come to work but his family insisted he get it checked out. He is fine." -- Inouye spokesman Peter Boylan 8am HST
SA: Peter Boylan, Inouye spokesman, said the senator would be available if any votes are taken on Capitol Hill today
HNN: "He is fine and resting at home." 9am HST
CB: Inouye Missed Vote Before Fall
Inouye also missed a vote the night before, raising a larger question about the 88-year-old senator's health and ability to keep up a hectic pace.
A haggard campaign schedule through October had Inouye "tired," but spokesman Peter Boylan says the senior statesman is in good health and that Thursday's incident was something that could have happened to anyone.
Boylan said Inouye missed Wednesday evening's cloture vote on the cybersecurity bill due to a classified meeting off of Capitol Hill, and that the missed vote was unrelated to Thursday's fall.
