Why I'm Running: Stop Illegal Dumping on the Leeward Coast
by Rep Kym Pine
The era of illegal dumping must end for the sake of our beautiful home, the Leeward Coast. It is so inspiring to see people of a community, of many ages and backgrounds, come together to make things better for their future.
I'm thankful for groups like Ka Wai Ola O Waianae for organizing concerned residents to get the message out that we must work together to keep our home clean and safe.
As state representative of Ewa Beach, I was honored to lead an effort to clean up our beaches that had been disrespected and had become unsafe for families to visit due to illegal dumping.
We had great success in making our beaches clean and safe for everyone to enjoy. If elected as your City Councilwoman, I will make it the same high priority to help residents across the Leeward Coast solve illegal dumping problems once and for all.
I would also like to thank the many groups like the Ewa Beach Lions Club and James Campbell High School who have made it their mission to keep Ewa Beach beautiful.
Caring residents like these deserve support from their public officials to reach these goals.
If elected, I will advocate for laws that reward residents who report illegal dumping. And I'll be a strong supporter of community groups by personally sharing their message and helping to clean up the beaches in need.
Please join Ka Wai Ola O Waianae and me to end illegal dumping on the Leeward Coast so our keiki will have pride in our precious home. It is up to all of us.
