Hanabusa: One-Party Rule
Email Message from www.Djou.com
Yesterday the General Contactors' Association of Hawaii (GCA) held a candidate forum between Charles and Colleen Hanabusa. This is the first of what we expect to be several debates or forums between the two candidates.
During the forum, Hanabusa spent much of the time criticizing Paul Ryan while Charles spoke of how he would create jobs and expand small business. At one point, Hanabusa was asked what she thought could be done to solve the political stalemate in Congress. Half in jest, she responded "don't vote for ANY Republicans."
While Hanabusa might have been smiling when she made this remark, it reveals her deeper philosophy that our democracy fares better under one-party rule. She has thrived under one-party machine rule in Hawaii and believes America would be better off under one-party monolithic rule by Democrats. In contrast, Charles believes that a vigorous and healthy two-party democracy is the best way to move our country forward.
Your contribution of $5, $25, $50 or $250 will help send a message that one-party rule isn't good for Hawaii and we don't want it for America either.
Like her comments at yesterday's forum, our opponent's campaign posts on her Facebook the following appeal designed to exacerbate the partisan divide and further pit Democrats against Republicans. In addition to being inaccurate, it typifies exactly what is wrong with our government today. Rather than work together to solve problems, too many politicians, like our opponent, only want to point fingers and call others names. We need your help to fight back.
We have less than 82 days until the General Election and your support today will make all the difference between winning and losing. Please consider getting involved and help us change our state and nation for the better.
